“Armenia's membership in the European Union is our long-term goal,” Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated during discussions on the draft 2027 state budget at the National Assembly.

“We often emphasize that neither the deepening of our relations with the EU nor the policies we pursue in any other direction should be placed in contradiction with our immediate neighbors. We cannot envision ourselves living in an environment characterized by confrontation or disharmony with our neighbors. Our own experience has already shown us that this is destructive, or, to put it more mildly, neither beneficial nor conducive to Armenia's interests.

The same applies to our policy towards the EU. And, yes, it is good that two of our four neighbors are candidates [for EU membership] and members of the Customs Union. This will make all these processes much more harmonious,” he stated.
